Lonny Gordon – Writer and Reviewer

Lonny Gordon who is Artist in Residence for the Illinois State University – College of Fine Arts has done research for the Ruth Page Centennial Celebration for the Ruth Page Foundation which includes the writing of “A Life of Firsts” – the creation of new choreography based on the work of Ruth Page and extensive recorded interviews with Andre Delfau, her 2nd husband, the costume and scenic artist for the Paris Opera.

In addition, Lonny Gordon has written numerous articles as a reviewer for the Ashai Evening News which includes the “Lezana and her Flamenco” on December 13, 1968; “Lush Miss Ishii stuns Roppongi’s Underground” on November 12, 1968, “Miss Kanda Back on Tokyo stage” on November 6,1968, “U.S. Ballet Theatre displays superb art” on September 30, 1968, “Australian Ballet in Tokyo” on April 16, 1968, “Bonjin’s Dancers show their stuff with cabbage” on April 14, 1969 and the “Tokyo Ballet Theater-Pulcinella tops ambitious program” on February 19, 1968.

Moreover, Lonny Gordon has written articles and chapters in books such as the 1986 “Roles of dance in modern society: Some considerations” In Soo, P.C. for the Performing Arts and the 1981 “Tradition and change of dance theater in Japan: Doors once open – open wider” for Dance Scope and the National Theatre Dance Circle, Singapore among many others.
